INTRODUCTION

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET contains Silodosin which belongs to the group of medicines called Alpha-blockers. It is indicated for the treatment of signs and symptoms of Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adults only.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) also called prostate gland enlargement is a common condition. An enlarged prostate gland can cause uncomfortable urinary symptoms, such as blocking the flow of urine out of the bladder. It can also cause bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.

Your doctor might want you to take some diagnostic tests before starting with the treatment. Before taking MAXVOID 8MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, kidney disease, undergoing cataract surgery, or have ever fainted or felt dizzy.

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET is not recommended for use in women, children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

The most common side effects of using MAXVOID 8MG TABLET are abnormal ejaculation, dizziness, blocked or runny nose, and diarrhoea. Consult with your doctor if any of these side effects worsen or does not improve.

USES OF MAXVOID 8MG TABLET
Used to treat signs and symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in adults
HOW MAXVOID 8MG TABLET WORKS

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET treats the urinary symptoms associated with prostatic hyperplasia by acting on certain receptors present in prostate, bladder, and urethra. It blocks these receptors, causing the smooth muscles in these organs to relax.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take MAXVOID 8MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

COMMON
Abnormal ejaculation
Dizziness (even while standing up)
Blocked or runny nose
Diarrhoea

Decrease in sexual drive
Dry mouth
Fast heart rate
Symptoms of allergic reaction affecting the skin which includes rash, itching, hives and rash caused by a medicine
Low blood pressure
RARE
Irregular heartbeat
Loss of consciousness or fainting

Stop taking MAXVOID 8MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

Allergic reaction including swelling of the face or throat, feeling faint, difficulty in breathing, itchy skin, or hives
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Nausea:

Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine yourself without consulting your doctor.

PREGNANCY

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET is not intended for use in pregnant women.

BREASTFEEDING

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET is not intended for use in breastfeeding women.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel drowsiness, dizziness or having visual disturbances after taking MAXVOID 8MG TABLET.

KIDNEY

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking.

LIVER

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having severe liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking.

ALLERGY

Do not take MAXVOID 8MG TABLET if you are allergic to Silodosin or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

OTHERS

Before taking MAXVOID 8MG TABLET tell your doctor if you:

Have to undergo cataract surgery
Have felt faint or dizziness

Use in pediatrics:

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Consult your doctor for advice.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Inform your physician if you are taking any of the following medicine before taking MAXVOID 8MG TABLET:

Medicines used to reduce the blood pressure (Ex. prazosin, doxazosin)
Antifungal medicines (Ex. ketoconazole, itraconazole)
Medicines used in the treatment of HIV-AIDS (Ex. ritonavir)
Medicines used after transplants to prevent organ rejection (Ex. ciclosporin)
Medicines used in treating problems in getting or keeping an erection (Ex. sildenafil, tadalafil)
Medicines used in the treatment of epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin)
Medicines used in the treatment of tuberculosis (Ex. rifampicin)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of MAXVOID 8MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET is intended for use in adult men. It should not be given to children below 18 years of age.

How to manage if I miss a dose of MAXVOID 8MG TABLET?

You can take MAXVOID 8MG TABLET later the same day if you have missed it earlier. Skip the dose you missed if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not take a double dose of MAXVOID 8MG TABLET to make up for a missed dose.

Can MAXVOID 8MG TABLET cause erectile dysfunction?

MAXVOID 8MG TABLET usually does not affect erectile function. However, it may cause other sexual problems like ejaculatory dysfunction and failure to ejaculate. If you experience any side effects or uneasiness while taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately.
