FX 24 Suspension 60ml

INTRODUCTION

FX 24 contains Fexofenadine which belongs to the class of medications called second generation antihistamines, especially the class known as histamine receptor antagonists. It is prescribed for the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis or for the relief of symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). It may be taken with or without food. It should not be taken with fruit juice.

Allergic rhinitis is caused by allergens, which are usually harmless substances but trigger an allergic reaction in some people. Fexofenadine is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, sneezing, hives, and itching. It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

Always take this FX 24 as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid prolonged use of this medication, unless advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney, heart problems and pregnant or breastfeeding. The common side effects are headache, drowsiness and nausea.

USES OF FX 24
Seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children 2 years of age and older
Uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children 6 months of age and older
HOW FX 24 WORKS

FX 24 blocks a natural substance, histamine that your body makes during an allergic reaction. Fexofenadine is a selectively peripheral H1-blocker. Blockage prevents the activation of the H1 receptors by histamine, preventing the symptoms associated with allergies from occurring.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take FX 24 exactly as your doctor has directed you. Check with your doctor or if you are not sure. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion:

Stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.

Headache:

Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller

Drowsiness or dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

PREGNANCY

FX 24 should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

BREASTFEEDING

FX 24 can be used only with potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus or nursing infant. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

KIDNEY

FX 24 should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY

Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Fexofenadine or any other ingredients in this medicine.

INTERACTIONS

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following:
