INTRODUCTION
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS contains Itraconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals. It is used to treat fungal eye infections which includes fungal keratitis/mycotic corneal ulcer (corneal infection), fungal conjunctivitis (fungal infection of conjunctiva) and keratomycosis (invasive corneal infection of eye). ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS is also used to treat corneal ulcers caused by a fungus, aspergillus fumigatus.
Fungal eye infection is a condition that affects the deeper layers of the cornea or leads to formation of scar that affects the vision which is generally characterized by symptoms such as eye pain, eye redness, blurred vision or sensitivity to light.
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to itraconazole. Before using ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing diseases, scheduled for any upcoming surgery, kidney problems or liver problems.
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.
If you experience any side effects or unusual effects during treatment with this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
USES OF ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS
Treats fungal eye infections which includes fungal keratitis/mycotic corneal ulcer (corneal infection), fungal conjunctivitis (fungal infection of conjunctiva) and keratomycosis (invasive corneal infection of eye)
Treats corneal ulcers caused by a fungus (called aspergillus fumigatus)
HOW ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS WORKS
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis (an organic compound responsible for maintaining cell membrane integrity of fungi cell) that leads to fungal cell membrane abnormalities (marked with increased permeability and disruption of fungi cell) thus causing destruction to the fungi cell and preventing the occurrence of fungal infections in affected individuals.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Use ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands with soap/hand sanitizer. Tilt your head back and slightly pull your lower eyelid down to form a small pocket. Hold the bottle over your eye and place the dropper as closer as possible without touching the eye. Look up and squeeze the bottle to release a single drop onto your eye. Close your eye gently and try to avoid blinking, moving your eyeball or squeezing your eyelids. While your eye is closed use one finger to apply gentle pressure to the inner corner of the eye. Use a cloth or tissue to wipe out excess medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose, frequency and duration of ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS for you depending upon your age and type or severity of the infection.

RARE
Stop using ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Shortness of breath
Upper respiratory tract infection, runny nose or severe indigestion

PREGNANCY
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.
BREASTFEEDING
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any machines while using ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS since it may cause blurred or double vision or sensitivity to light.
KIDNEY
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.
LIVER
ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients with liver problems or impairment. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.
ALLERGY
Do not use ENTOZOLE 1% EYE DROPS if you are allergic to itraconazole or any other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
