INTRODUCTION
ECOSPRIN 150MG contains Aspirin which is a Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It is used to relieve pain caused by headache (including migraine), nerve pain, toothache, menstrual pain, back pain, muscle pain and joint pain. It can also be used to treat pains and symptoms associated with fever, sore throat, and cold and cough. Pains is caused primarily due to a substance called prostaglandin whichets secreted in the body following injuries or during certain disease conditions.
Aspirin is an analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory medicine. It relieves pain in the body by blocking the release of certain enzymes and chemicals (Ex. prostaglandins) that are involved in causing pain, inflammation, and fever.
Always take ECOSPRIN 150MG as instructed by your doctor and do not exceed the recommended dosage. Before taking ECOSPRIN 150MG, inform your doctor if you have asthma or any other liver, kidney, or heart problems. ECOSPRIN 150MG isenerally not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and in children (below 16 years) unless advised by your doctor. The most common side effects of ECOSPRIN 150MG are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, stomach pain and increased bruising. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect worsens.
USES OF ECOSPRIN 150MG

HOW ECOSPRIN 150MG WORKS
ECOSPRIN 150MG acts by blocking the release of certain enzymes and chemicals (Ex. prostaglandins) which are involved in the process of causing pain, inflammation, and fever. Due to the blockage of pain causing chemicals, it produces symptomatic relief in conditions such as headache, muscle pain, joint pain, and fever.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take ECOSPRIN 150MG as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow ECOSPRIN 150MG as a whole and do not crush or chew it. Continue to take ECOSPRIN 150MG as instructed by your doctor to obtain better results.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ECOSPRIN 150MG
COMMON
Nausea, vomiting
Stomach pain (due to swelling in stomach)
Increased bleeding tendency or bruising even after minor cuts
Nasal bleeding
Dizziness
Confusion
Hearing problems
Stop taking ECOSPRIN 150MG and contact your doctor immediately if you experience,
Signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, swelling of your lips, face or body, rash leading to difficulty in swallowing or worsening of asthma)
Signs of bleeding in the stomach (such as coughing up blood, blood in vomit, urine or feces, black stools) with stomach pain, indigestion, or heartburn bleeding in the brain causing severe headache
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea and vomiting:
Try to take ECOSPRIN 150MG with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy food.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax.et enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume too much of alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Stomach pain:
Rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep an ice pack on your stomach. Do not self-medicate and consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve on its own.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women especially during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless specifically directed by the doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Consult your doctor for advice.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any tools or machines if your ability is affected by ECOSPRIN 150MG.
ALCOHOL
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking ECOSPRIN 150MG, as it could enhance the risk of side effects.
KIDNEY
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended in patients with severe kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take ECOSPRIN 150MG if you are allergic to Aspirin, or other salicylates or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Ex. paracetamol, ibuprofen, diclofenac).
LUNGS
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended for use in patients with respiratory diseases such as asthma or hay fever (allergic reaction causing nasal decongestion). Consult your doctor before taking.
HEART DISEASE
ECOSPRIN 150MG should be used with caution in patients with heart disease (such as high blood pressure). Consult your doctor for advice.
OTHERS
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended for use if you:
Have or previously had ulcers in the stomach and intestines
Other bleeding or blood clotting disorders (like stroke, hemophilia or deep vein thrombosis, thrombocytopenia, pulmonary embolism)
Have or hadout (a type of joint pain) in the past
Before taking ECOSPRIN 150MG, inform your doctor if you:
Are dehydrated (loss of body fluids)
Have6PD deficiency (an inherited disorder affecting blood cells)
Use in Pediatrics:
ECOSPRIN 150MG is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 16 years) due to increased risk of side effects. Kindly consult your doctor before taking.
Use ineriatrics:
ECOSPRIN 150MG should be used with caution among elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking.

A. Drug – Drug interactions:
Before taking ECOSPRIN 150MG, inform your doctor if you are taking:
Medicines used for blood thinning (Ex. warfarin, heparin, phenindione and clopidogrel)
Medicines used to treat depression (such as fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, citralopram)
Corticosteroids (used to treat pain and inflammation) Ex. prednisolone, hydrocortisone
Medicines used to treat epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin, valproic acid)
Medicines used to treat high blood pressure such as ACE inhibitors (Ex. ramipril, captopril), angiotensin-II receptor blockers (Ex. losartan, olmesartan, telmisartan) or diuretics (Ex. spironolactone and acetazolamide)
Medicines used to neutralize stomach acids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, simethicone)
Medicines used to treatout (Ex. sulfinpyrazone or probenecid)
Methotrexate (a medicine used to treat cancer or rheumatoid arthritis)
Metoclopramide (used to treat nausea)
Other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (used to treat pain and inflammation) Ex. ibuprofen
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take excess of ECOSPRIN 150MG, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose are vomiting, dehydration, tinnitus, vertigo, deafness, sweating, warm extremities with bounding pulses, increased respiratory rate and hyperventilation
