INTRODUCTION
Canesten Cream contains Clotrimazole used to treat fungal skin infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, fungal nappy rash (in babies) and fungal sweat rash. It can also be used to treat irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or irritation at the tip of the penis (penile thrush). External thrush is a common fungal infection caused by the aggravation of the fungi, which usually lives harmlessly in the vagina or vulva.
Clotrimazole works by killing the fungus which is causing the infection. Along with the treatment, try to keep the infected area clean by washing it daily. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor for advice before using. Your doctor will decide whether you should use this medicine or not.

SIDE EFFECTS OF CANESTEN
Canesten Cream may cause application site reactions such as redness, swelling, itching, irritation, burning, blisters or peeling in some individuals. If you experience any of these reactions, check with your doctor.
SAFETY ADVICE
Wash the infected area thoroughly and pat it dry.
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to clotrimazole.
Apply a thin layer of this medicine evenly to the affected areas two or three times daily or as directed by your physician and gently rub it.
It is for external use only.
Avoid contact with eyes or mouth, if happens rinse it thoroughly with water.
It should be used with caution if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Inform your physician about all the medicines you use, including non-prescription and prescription medicines and herbal supplements.
