INTRODUCTION

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is a combination of Aspirin and Prasugrel which belongs to theroup of medicines called Antiplatelet agents. It is used to reduce the risk of blood clot formation in the body.

It is typically used among patients who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI, a non-surgical procedure used to open clogged blood vessels supplying the heart) or stent implantation in the heart.

It also prevents the recurrence of heart attack, stroke, angina, atherosclerosis and other circulatory problems caused due to blood clots among patients with heart problems and/or problems in blood circulation.

Before taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have asthma, hay fever, high blood pressure, dehydration, heavy menstrual periods or if you are scheduled for any surgery (including minor dental surgeries) in the upcoming days as a precaution.

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with ulcers or bleeding from the stomach or intestines. It is also not suitable for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless recommended by a physician.

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE may also make you bleed more easily even after minor cuts or injuries, and so be cautious while you perform even minor activities that involve the risk of cuts or injuries (like shaving, playing, or handling sharp objects). The most common side effects of taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE are increased bleeding tendency, anaemia, stomach problems and indigestion. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

USES OF PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE
Prevents the risk of blood clot formation in the body
Prevents heart attack, stroke, angina or blockage of blood vessels (such as atherosclerosis)
Prevents the recurrence of heart complications in patients who have undergone stent implantation or procedures to unclog blocked blood vessels supplying the heart (such as PCI)
HOW PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE WORKS

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is an antiplatelet medication. It prevents the clumping of platelets (a type of blood cell that causes blood clots) within the blood vessels. This reduces the risk of clot or plaque formation within the blood vessels and improves blood flow to all parts of the body.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with alass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It can be taken with or without meals.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE without consulting your doctor.

COMMON
Indigestion
Increased tendency for bleeding or bruising
Hematoma (bleeding under the skin, at the site of an injection, or into a muscle, causing swelling)
Nose bleeds
Skin rash
Small red bruises on the skin (ecchymoses)
Low haemoglobin or red blood cell count (anaemia)
UNCOMMON
Hives
Runny nose
Breathing difficulty
Sudden bleeding from the eyes orums

Stop taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE and contact your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following side effects:

Severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat, and tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
Severe allergic skin reactions (such as skin rash, itching, skin redness with blisters or peeling of the skin, and swelling in the mouth, which may be associated with high fever and joint pains)
Unusual or prolonged bleeding tendency (such as coughing up blood, blood in urine, or black or blood-stained stools, bleeding in the stomach or bowels, unusual bleeding or bruising under the skin, nasal bleeds, bleeding in the eye, bleeding inside the head, bleeding in the lung or joints)
Excessive bleeding from small cuts or injuries
Signs of stroke (such as sudden numbness or weakness of the arm, leg or face, especially on one side of the body, confusion, difficulty in speaking or understanding others, difficulty in walking, loss of balance, sudden dizziness, severe headache)
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Nausea and Vomiting

Take PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant women (especially during the last 3 months of pregnancy) unless advised by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.  

BREASTFEEDING

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless advised by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.  

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE does not affect your ability to drive or operate any machines.

ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE as it may increase the risk of side effects.

KIDNEY

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems. It should be used with caution among patients with other kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.  

LIVER

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. It should be used with caution among patients with other liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.  

ALLERGY

Do not take PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE if you are allergic to Aspirin or Prasugrel.

LUNGS

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with asthma or any respiratory diseases. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

HEART DISEASE

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution among patients with heart problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.  

OTHERS

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use if you:

Currently have or ever had any ulcers in the stomach or intestines
Currently have or ever had any signs of bleeding from theut (such as blood vomits or bloody stools)
Are taking any blood thinning medications
Have any blood clotting disorders (such as haemophilia or thrombocytopenia)
Haveout (joint pain)
Ever had a stroke or mini-stroke

Before taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE inform your doctor if you:

Have allergic rhinitis (hay fever causing repeated sneezing, watery eyes, itching of the eyes/nose and runny nose)
Have nasal polyps (a non-cancerousrowth in the nose)
Have high blood pressure
Are severely dehydrated
Have6PD deficiency
Have or previously had any problems in the stomach or intestines
Have heavy menstrual periods
Must undergo any surgery/operation in the upcoming days

Use in Paediatrics:

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged below 16 years. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before administration.

Use ineriatrics:

PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before taking it.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug – Drug interactions:

Before taking PRAX A 75MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

Heparin, warfarin (medicines used for blood thinning)
Medicines used to treat depression (such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, fluoxetine, moclobemide, sertraline)
Methotrexate (a medicine used to treat cancer or rheumatoid arthritis)
Medicine used to suppress the immune system and to preventraft rejection (such as ciclosporin or tacrolimus)
Oral contraceptives (birth control pills) Ex. mifepristone, drospirenone, Ethinyl estradiol
Digoxin (a medicine used to treat abnormal heart rhythm)
Medicines used to treat fever or pain (such as ibuprofen)
Corticosteroids (medicines used to treat pain and inflammation) such as prednisolone
Medicines used to treat epilepsy (such as phenytoin and sodium valproate)
Medicines used to treat diabetes (such aslibenclamide,lipizide or insulin)
Medicines used to treat hypertension (such as ramipril, captopril)
Diuretics (used to reduce edema by increasing urine output) such as spironolactone and acetazolamide
Metoclopramide (a medicine used to treat nausea and vomiting)
Medicines used to treatout (such as probenecid and sulfinpyrazone)
Medicines used to neutralize stomach acids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magaldrate)
Lithium (a medicine used to treat mental illnesses)
Acetazolamide (a medicine used to treatlaucoma)
Zafirlukst (a medicine used for asthma)
Medicines used to treat bacterial infections (such as co-trimoxazole)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally took an excessive amount of this medicine, consult your doctor or visit the nearby hospital immediately. Symptoms of an overdose might include vomiting, dehydration, ringing in the ears, vertigo, problems in hearing, sweating, flushing of arms, legs or hands with racing pulse, rapid and deep breathing and increased breathing rate.
