INTRODUCTION:-

VASODIL SR 30MG contains Isosorbide Mononitrate which belongs to theroup of medicines called Nitrate vasodilators. It is used to treat chronic angina pectoris and it is not recommended for use in sudden or acute angina. Angina pectoris is defined as a sudden, sharp, severe pain originating from the apex of heart and radiating to the left shoulder. The pain is severe and crushing, and it is characterized by feeling of pressure and suffocation, behind breastbone.

VASODIL SR 30MG is not recommended for use in patients suffering from lung disease that result in low levels of oxygen in the body (hypoxemia) or cardiac conditions such as low blood volume, low blood pressure, and thickened cardiac muscles (cardiac myopathy) or shock (vascular collapse). Before taking VASODIL SR 30MG, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases,laucoma, thyroid problems, or if you suffer from low body temperature.

Your doctor may advise you to follow lifestyle changes such as diet changes (taking foods low in fat, salt or sugar) and do regular mild exercises to achieve better results during treatment with this medicine. It is not recommended for use in children and should be used with caution in elderly patients.

VASODIL SR 30MG should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women, so consult your doctor before taking it. The common side effects of taking VASODIL SR 30MG are headache, tiredness, dizziness, nausea, decreased blood pressure (hypotension) and rapid heartbeat (palpitations). Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen.

HOW VASODIL SR 30MG WORKS:-

VASODIL SR 30MG helps to relax the blood vessels and muscles of the heart, which causes the space inside the blood vessels to widen. This helps to ease the flow of blood in the blood vessels of the heart and provides relief from the pain associated with blockage of vessels as seen in angina.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:-

Take VASODIL SR 30MG as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with alass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of VASODIL SR 30MG for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

SIDE EFFECTS OF VASODIL SR 30MG:-

Stop taking VASODIL SR 30MG and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

Severe decreased blood pressure (signs include pale and cold skin or skin having blue tinge, rapid and shallow breathing along with elevated heart rate, weak pulse resulting in dizziness, confusion and/or anxiety)
Loss of consciousness indicative of circulatory collapse which can result in insufficient supply of oxygen to the vital body organs like brain and kidneys

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS:-

• Headache:

Drink ample amount of water and avoid skipping meals.et adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

• Nausea:

Take VASODIL SR 30MG with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

• Dizziness:

Lie down until dizziness isone, thenet up slowly. Move slowly and carefully, do not hurry.et adequate rest. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Avoid coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. Consult your doctor if the symptomets worse.

• Tiredness:

Drink plenty of fluid and eat balanced diet and frequent meals. Do regular minimal exercise (mild walking) and follow regular sleep schedule. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS:-

• PREGNANCY

VASODIL SR 30MG should be used with caution in pregnant women and who are planning for pregnancy unless considered clearly considered necessary. Consult your doctor before taking VASODIL SR 30MG.

• BREASTFEEDING

VASODIL SR 30MG should be used with caution in breast-feeding women due to lack of safety data. Consult your doctor before taking VASODIL SR 30MG.

• DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy after taking VASODIL SR 30MG.

• ALCOHOL

Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking VASODIL SR 30MG because it might increase the risk of dizziness and sometimes fainting also.

• KIDNEY

VASODIL SR 30MG is not recommended for use if you had or have or suspect of having disorders of the kidney. Consult your doctor before taking VASODIL SR 30MG.

• LIVER

VASODIL SR 30MG is not recommended for use if you had or have or suspect of having disorders of the liver. Consult your doctor before taking VASODIL SR 30MG.

• ALLERGY

Do not take VASODIL SR 30MG if you are allergic to isosorbide mononitrate or other nitrates (such as isosorbide dinitrate).

• LUNGS

VASODIL SR 30MG is not recommended for use in patients having lung disease resulting in low levels of oxygen in the body (hypoxaemia). Consult your doctor before taking it.

• HEART DISEASE

VASODIL SR 30MG is not recommended for use in patients with sudden anginal attack, low blood volume, low blood pressure, thickened cardiac muscles (cardiac myopathy), hardened heart valves (stenosis), compression of the heart due to fluid around it (cardiac tamponade) and vascular collapse (shock). Consult your doctor before taking VASODIL SR 30MG.

OTHERS:-

VASODIL SR 30MG is not recommended for use if you have:

Elevated pressure inside the eyes (glaucoma)
Disease related to increased pressure inside the head (brain haemorrhage)
Head injury

Are undernourished
Have a sustained low body temperature (hypothermia)

Before taking VASODIL SR 30MG inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

Medicines used to treat male impotency (Ex. sildenafil, tadalafil)
Medicines to treat high blood pressure such as calcium channel blockers (Ex. verapamil)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of VASODIL SR 30MG, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage are pulsating/throbbing headache, reddening of the skin along with an increase in the temperature, blurred vision, rapid drop in blood pressure and fainting.
