INTRODUCTION
PRIXAIN 82.5 contains Pregabalin which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticonvulsants. It is used in adults to treat neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain (also known as nerve pain) is a long-lasting pain caused due to damage of nerves fibers present in the body. It is characterized by hot, burning, sharp, shooting, throbbing, or stabbing pain sensations with tingling or numbness of body parts. It may also cause mood changes, sleep disturbances and tiredness if nerve fibers supplying the brain are damaged.
PRIXAIN 82.5 can also be used to treat certain forms of epilepsy (fits or seizures) when used in combination with other anti-epileptic medicines. It may also be effective in treating generalized anxiety disorders (severe anxiety that affects daily activities) when other medicines are not effective.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take PRIXAIN 82.5 as advised by your physician. Swallow PRIXAIN 82.5 with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. PRIXAIN 82.5 can be taken with or without food.

Stop taking PRIXAIN 82.5 and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Serious skin reaction involving reddish non-elevated, target-like, or circular patches on the trunk, often with central blisters, skin peeling, ulcers of mouth, throat, nose, genitals and eyes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
Yellow discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea and Vomiting:
Take PRIXAIN 82.5 with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Dizziness or Drowsiness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy or drowsy. Do not consume excessive alcohol. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if this side effect bothers you.
