INTRODUCTION

ITASPOR 2% POWDER contains Itraconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungal agents. It is used to prevent recurrence and provides relief from skin problems (such as rashes, candidiasis, aspergillosis and mycosis). It is also used to eradicate severe fungal infections in affected individuals.

ITASPOR 2% POWDER is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to itraconazole. ITASPOR 2% POWDER is not recommended for use in pregnant women and it should be used with caution in breast-feeding women only if advised by the doctor.  

The most common side effects associated with the use of ITASPOR 2% POWDER are diarrhoea, edema (swelling due to water retention), nausea, tiredness, vomiting or rash. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsens.

HOW ITASPOR 2% POWDER WORKS

ITASPOR 2% POWDER works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis (an organic compound responsible for maintaining cell membrane integrity of fungi cell) that leads to fungal cell membrane abnormalities (marked with increased permeability and disruption of fungi cell) thus causing destruction to the fungi cell and preventing the occurrence of fungal infections in affected individuals. 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use ITASPOR 2% POWDER as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Clean and wipe to dry the affected area before applying the medicine. Apply a thin layer of powder over the affected area. Avoid contact with eyes. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, frequency and duration for you depending upon your age and type or severity of the infection.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Dizziness:

Lie down until the dizziness passes and get up slowly. Do not bend down suddenly. Get a lot of rest. Walk slowly and carefully. Take plenty of fluids. Avoid drinking coffee, alcohol or smoking. Consult your doctor if the symptom persists for long or gets worsened.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lots of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid using any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Nausea or vomiting:

Stick to simple meals while using this medicine. Avoid eating oily rich, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

PREGNANCY

ITASPOR 2% POWDER is not recommended to be used in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using the medicine. 

BREASTFEEDING

ITASPOR 2% POWDER should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if it is considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.

ALLERGY

Do not use ITASPOR 2% POWDER if you are allergic to itraconazole or any other ingredients of this medicine.
