INTRODUCTION

CLOTRIN contains Clotrimazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals. It is used in the treatment of fungal skin infections such as ringworm (fungal infection of the skin or scalp), athlete’s foot (fungal infection between the toes), fungal nappy rash (skin rash affecting the nappy area) and fungal sweat rash. It also relieves irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or at the end of penis, which may be associated with thrush.

Before applying CLOTRIN inform your doctor about your previous existing disease conditions. CLOTRIN is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to clotrimazole. Avoid smoking or going near flames and wearing fabrics that catches fire easily due to increased risk of severe burns.

CLOTRIN can be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Avoid using latex contraceptives (condoms or diaphragms) as this medicine may reduce the effectiveness of such contraceptives, use alternative precautions for at least five days after using the medicine. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience any unusual effects.

USES OF CLOTRIN
Treats fungal skin infections (such as ringworm, athlete’s foots, fungal nappy rash and sweat rash)

HOW CLOTRIN WORKS

CLOTRIN acts by specifically inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol and other sterols (enzyme) required for cell membrane production, therefore it inhibits the division and growing of fungi eventually leading to cell death, which further prevents fungal growth.
